Q1: Who CAN apply for Summer Pathfinders?
- Teachers and coaches from public schools
- Teachers and coaches from public charter schools
- Community librarians
Coaches include tech coaches, instructional coaches, and district employees who train teachers.

Q2: Who CANNOT apply for Summer Pathfinders?
- Teachers and coaches from private schools
- Homeschool organizations
- Unless part of a public school district
- Administrators
- Please invite your teachers to apply!

Q3: What are the steps to register?
- Choose your course above.
- Apply for your course by completing 3 requirements:
- Course Registration Form
- Pathfinders Online Institute (POI) Account Welcome Page Screenshot
- Acceptance of Scholarship Letter
- Once approved, you’ll be able select your session times.
Q4: What happens if I sign up and do not attend my course?
- All courses have asynchronous make up options! If you can’t attend a live session, you will be able to make it up.
- If you register, are accepted, and then do not complete the course in its entirety, you will be asked to return any hardware you received at your own cost, or pay the cost of the hardware to CodeJoy. (This is a change from previous years, mandated by the Infosys Foundation USA.)
Q5: What kind of accounts do I need to create and are they free?
All of the accounts you need to create are FREE and you get access to other free content through them as well.
- Pathfinders Online Institute – You access all of the Summer Pathfinders Course here. You also can access other FREE online, async courses for educators.
- CodeJoy Hub – Once you’ve been accepted into your course, you access your Summer Pathfinders Course content through CodeJoy Hub. You also can access our FREE Student Shows here. We host free shows throughout the school year.
Q6: How do I participate if I am not eligible for Pathfinders Summer Institute?
- You can pay for your course: contact hello@codejoy.org to purchase your spot for $750.
- We also have 2 free Asynchronous Video Courses available on Pathfinders Online Institute:
- Practical AI for Educators
- Micro:bit in the Wild
- Anyone who creates an account on Pathfinders Online can access those 2 courses.
Q7: What if I want to take more than one course?
- Any participant may pay for a second course: contact hello@codejoy.org to purchase your spot for $750.
- If you pay for your course, you will only need to complete the Course Registration Form. You will not need to complete the POI Account Welcome Page Screenshot or Acceptance of Scholarship Letter.
